Red Neck fleur de lis

Artist Hector Valencia melds natural forces of the sun and wind with art to create these dynamic sculptures. The movement of the blades create dancing shadows and glimmering sparkles of light. Painstakingly designed to move in the slightest breeze yet able to withstand rigorous conditions. These majestic pieces in concert with the environment make a breathtaking statement in any setting. Chastity – the unveiling

garden art piece built for my neighbor

Made in response to the theme “Patterns of Growth”, this sculpture will be installed at the John Muir Hospital Neo-Natal Unit in Walnut Creek, CA in March 2012. I can imagine young children walking by it on the way to meet their new baby siblings for the first time. Thanks to Ernest and Lois for creating the metal.

This is a video that my wife took of me using my “wood processing machine” that I modified to form the edges of the stainless steel reflection pool. Where the blade and the ram are normally, I made dies that bend the stainless to the right depth and diameter. To see more visit: www.facebook.com
