When I happened to find the Garden State soundtrack, I pretty much fell in love instantly with almost all the songs. Oddly enough, I didn’t particularly like this song… Strange how people can change your perceptions I recorded the main guitar first, then the vocals and finally added a subtle bass. If you give it the chance, it’s the type of song that grows on you. I can only hope to write something as beautiful as this one day! Check out the original version by the postal service. Spectacular Sculpture Garden Story by Carlos Puma /Inland Empire Central Photography by Carlos Puma/Inland Empire Central One of the most spectacular sculpture gardens in the Inland Empire isn’t open to the public. It’s nestled next to the art studio of long time Riversider Paulden Evans. The sculptures are hidden from street view, sprinkled in and around his vineyard shaded my Date Palms and Olive trees. This the backdrop where Paulden creates his unique work of harden steel sculpture that stand several feet high, aluminum panel paintings and found metal sculptures. After 30 years as Interior designer Paulden saw a need for outdoor art. He learn to work metal by trial and error. “After a few sold I was off and running,” he says with smile. Many have sold. He pieces are collected throughout the Southwest. His latest collection of metal sculptures will be on display at House 849 during Palm Springs Modernism Week. You can see some of his locally at Mario’s Place or on the front lawn of the Riverside Museum of Art.
